:: Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz
Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz
Here it is, the Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz. Best known as one of the key ingredients for Steve Hackett's early Genesis guitar tone. As you may already know, the Duo Fuzz is actually a rebranded Shin-ei FY-6 Super Fuzz, only with sort of a South London accent. The name derives from British importer Rose Morris, which was located on Shaftesbury Avenue in London.
This particular Duo Fuzz is in fairly good condition. There is some paint chipping toward the bottom of the pedal, and it has an interesting sort of Rorschach Test looking discoloration of the paint on top of the pedal. The bottom plate of this pedal is not the original one.
I should also mention that this pedal is a bit noisy. There is a background hiss when you're not playing, most likely due to a noisy transistor. Since a repair would likely involve replacing one or more of the transistors, we've opted to leave it as is for now to let the new owner decide whether they would like to have it repaired.
If you want this pedal and want us to go ahead and do the repair,
for more info, or just include a note when you make the purchase. Even with an added cost of repair, this pedal is priced a good bit lower than any other Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz you're likely to find.
*This pedal is on consignment from a private collector. The stated price is the amount the owner is looking to get. Please
with questions or for further info.
