|Who are you?
The best description yet of who we are and what we do can be found in this interview with Analog Tom for stompthatbox.com
I have an old stompbox that’s broken. Can you do repairs?
Boutique, mass-produced, or vintage guitar effects pedals – if it’s analog and it doesn’t work, we can fix it. We can also perform true bypass modifications and pedal rehousing. We specialize in wah mods, from vintage Thomas Organ Crybaby to Dunlop and Vox reissues. We’ll bring out the best tone in your wah, and even custom tune it to your requirements. See our Custom Projects and Repairs for more details.
Can you rehouse my Boss/ Arion/ Danelectro, etc. pedal for me?
In most cases, yes. Send us the details of your project request (what pedal you have, and how you want it rehoused) and we’ll get back to you with a price quote. Our typical rehousing includes a new enclosure with custom graphics and true bypass switching; turn around time is usually less than a week. If you’d like to go ahead and get started, just send us an email.
I have a vintage stompbox for sale. Are you interested in buying it?
Yes, we may be interested. We buy all kinds of gear, vintage and boutique: effects pedals, guitars, amps, keyboards, etc. Please send an email with pictures and a detailed description of the instruments or gear you want to sell, including what condition the items are in and any modifications or repairs made to the items. Most importantly, let us know how much you’re looking to get for each item.
To get an idea of the kinds of things we’re interested in, check out our WANTED page.
Do you do gear trades?
Analog Tom is a sucker for gear trades (much to the annoyance of his accountant). Why, he ain’t nothing but a tradin’ fool. The majority of our vintage and used inventory was acquired on trade. See the above FAQ for details about the info we need about the items you’re selling. Once we’ve agreed on a trade value, you can ship your items to our shop address:

I have a vintage guitar pedal. How much is it worth?
This is one of our most frequently asked questions. We are now offering professional appraisal service for all vintage guitar effects pedals. If you are interested in having your vintage effects pedal appraised, send us detailed pictures of the top, bottom, and insides (component side of the circuit board) so we can determine age, originality, and condition.
The service fee is $25 for each item appraised. After you have submitted your info and completed payment, you will receive a written appraisal from Tom Hughes, author of Analog Man’s Guide To Vintage Effects. For more information, send us an email.
Hello? Did you get my email? I emailed you guys and I haven’t heard back.
Hi. We like to hear from you, and we try to answer any questions as soon as we can. But we do get a ton of email, and sometimes we get a little bogged down. Please be patient. As you can understand, we’re obliged to give priority to order related inquiries over general questions. If you haven’t heard back from us in a reasonable amount of time, please email again. Sometimes things fall through the cracks, emails may end up in spam folders, or they just disappear into the nether regions of cyberspace. You can also try calling us at the shop: 203-764-2644.
Can I get tracking info for the stuff I just bought?
After we process your order, we usually ship using USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation or UPS, which includes tracking. Once your order has been shipped, you should receive an email with shipping info from either USPS or UPS.
